Ingredients
- 4oz of self raising flour
- 4oz of caster sugar
- 4oz of unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence
Quick and easy cakes, especially for the younger cooks!
Step by step Cook along with this step by step guide
- Cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add the beaten egg a little at a time.
- Sift then fold in the flour a little at a time
- Add the baking powder and the salt.
- Mix in the vanilla essence, then share equally between the cake cases.
- Place on a baking tray in a pre-heated oven 160 deg for 15-20 mins.
- Take out and cool for 20 mins then add butter icing to the top of the cakes. You can also sprinkle hundreds and thousands or a little icing sugar on top if you wish.
- Top tip: Make enough butter icing to freeze for the next time.
