La Spaghettata is a traditional Italian restaurant situated in the centre of beautiful Durham City just off the popular market place. For over 10 years we have been Durham’s favourite Italian restaurant. Friendly waiters deliver fresh specialties and dishes with a distinctive Italian flair. Taste the lovely wines, fresh local fish, specialty salads and our homestyle cuisine like...Duo Gusti - king prawns and beef strips sautéed in a garlic, lemon, wine and tomato sauce served with fettuccine, or how about Polpette Alla Pizzaiola – Italian meatballs served in a spicy tomato & garlic sauce.

Whether it is a relaxing glass of wine, a business lunch, a romantic dinner, or dessert and cappuccino at the end of the evening, you can be sure to receive excellent service and your meal will be prepared with great skill and care.

La Spaghettata owner Fabio has built its reputation on delivering high quality traditional Italian food with an extensive menu encompassing pasta, seafood dishes and great selection of pizzas, as well as a great choice from the free salad bar. We do not take bookings unless it is for groups of 12 or more and beware...we are very busy at times ...so please come early and you can relax and have a pre -meal drink in the popular Fabio’s Bar situated above the restaurant.

Fabio’s Bar opened in spring 2005 and has already become one of the most popular bars in Durham. Under the same ownership and on the floor above Durham’s most legendary and popular restaurant La Spaghettata, Fabio’s offers the same excellent atmosphere and cheap prices with a huge array of drinks and a smart and sophisticated interior that is so often lacking in Durham.

With its late license until 2am, the ability to get food sent up from the restaurant, and an excellent mixture of Rap, R&B and Dance music along with the odd bit of cheese thrown in, it makes for the perfect night.

Fabio's Bar is open 7 days a week from 6pm to 2am
